Generators

Daily

  1. Inspect fuel level.
  2. Inspect and record oil level/pressure and water/coolant temperature.
  3. Inspect for any leakages.
  4. Inspect control panel status.

Monthly

  1. Check for abnormal vibration or noise and proper fixing of assembly.
  2. Check coolant level, corrosion inhibitors and anti-freeze levels.
  3. Inspect engine starter, battery charger and battery condition and connections.
  4. Inspect and drain exhaust condensate.
  5. Verify all indicators (e.g. lamp test).

Quarterly

  1. Measure and verify correctness of electrical parameters (voltage, current, frequency, harmonics, power factor).
  2. Inspect and lubricate, where necessary, moving parts.
  3. Inspect belt condition and tightness.
  4. Inspect exhaust piping and couplings for leaks and proper fixing including muffler, drain condensation trap and rain entry protection.
  5. Inspect belt condition and tension; correct as required.
  6. Inspect the air intake and filters (e.g. turbo inlet, filters, crankcase breather, louvers) as well its surroundings for (potential) blockage and excessive dust.
  7. Inspect condition of hoses, clamps and visual leaks.
  8. Inspect radiator for corrosion and (air flow) obstructions.

Annually

  1. Inspect filters.
  2. Inspect gauges and meters and calibrate.
  3. Inspect connections, cabling, insulation and fixings (e.g. ground connection).
  4. Inspect shunt trip operations.
  5. Inspect alarm contacts and monitoring points.
  6. Perform thermographic scanning under load.
