Capacity Management

The organization should have appropriate capacity management policies and procedures. Capacity management should ensure that current required and future planned capacity is made available in the most cost effective and efficient manner. Capacity calculations should take place on a regular planned interval.

Documented design limitations

The organization should maintain up-to-date (design) documents indicating:

  1. Current installed maximum capacity.
  2. Maximum installable capacity.

These limits should be defined for, at a minimum, the following areas:

  1. Electrical.
  2. Mechanical (cooling).
  3. Architectural (size/space and weight).
  4. Telecommunication.
