Facilities Maintenance Program Selection

The organization should select an appropriate maintenance program for each and every part of the facilities infrastructure. The selection of a maintenance program can be a mix of different programs, depending on the equipment/facility under scope and the business requirements. The selection should be documented and include at least the following details (some may not apply, depending on the program option chosen):

  1. Type of maintenance program:
    a) Reactive maintenance (corrective maintenance).
    b) Preventive maintenance (time-based maintenance).
    c) Predictive maintenance (condition-based maintenance).
    d) Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).

  2. Telephone support hours.
  3. Onsite support hours.
  4. Response time.
  5. Fix/resolution time.

The organization should determine for each part of the facility which program meets its business needs.
