The organization should ensure that the data center has, as much as possible, a minimal negative impact on the global and local environment, community, society, and economy.
The organization should have a focus on efficient natural resource utilization, water usage efficiency, waste management control, as well as maintaining and managing its electrical systems, mechanical systems, residual heat, renewable energy and ICT equipment in order to create a sustainable data center.
Where possible, the organization should motivate customers and everybody in the supply chain to support these efforts.
