Proper tools are important for efficient, reliable and safe maintenance. The organization should maintain a list of required and optional tools matching the maintenance activities it performs in-house. For maintenance services provided by vendors, no list is required to be maintained.
Safety
All tools and equipment (e.g. screw drivers, ladders, measurement equipment) should comply with all relevant safety standards and be maintained in good working condition. Where electrical tools or equipment are used, it should be properly insulated.
Where required, safety briefings need to be conducted so that the tools and equipment are properly operated.
