The resource matrix indicates which type and level of competencies (capability), as well as the quantity (capacity), must be readily available during the agreed service delivery period to ensure that the committed service levels can be delivered. The organization should maintain two resource matrixes:
1) Master Resource Matrix (MRM) indicating the number and type of resources required.
2) Detailed Resource Matrix (DRM) indicating the allocated staff (per week/month).
Different resources might be required at different times of the day, week, month, or year. Therefore, the organization should indicate the resource requirement based on different timings. An example can be found in Appendix-D: Example resource matrix.
Where desired, the organization could separate the resource matrices by functional areas (e.g. design team, support team).
