Singapore (8 August 2019) – The global data centre industry received a great boost yesterday when the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) announced the ANSI/TIA-942 Accreditation Scheme to provide official auditing and certification to data centres conforming with the ANSI/TIA-942 standard. 

EPI applauds the move by TIA, according to EPI Group Chairman & CEO, Edward van Leent, “We are very pleased with the establishment of this official certification scheme.  It will fundamentally change the landscape of the global data centre industry which is in great need for official data centre certification.  The ANSI/TIA-942 is the most followed standard globally for data centre design and build because of its high quality, complete coverage and transparency.  Previously, without an official auditing scheme, the benchmarking of data centre design and build were subjected to abuse by various parties, including unqualified auditors performing subpar audit and certification leaving the customers at risk”.

Van Leent continues, “The foremost aim of the official TIA-942 certification scheme is to protect the interest of the data centre users, owners and operators, and effectively protect us, the people who need to have access to data and applications on 24x7 basis.  It is the only official data centre certification scheme with full impartial accreditation and certification.  It will provide the clarity that the data centre industry keenly need.”
