Dhaka (5 Mar 2017) – EPI recently delivered a presentation at a Data Centre Seminar in Bangladesh, jointly organized by BASIS (Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services) and ECADEMY.

According to Rashedul Islam, BASIS Vice-President, “BASIS has taken the initiative to create awareness to its members on the importance of applying global standards in data centres and developing world-class data centre skills to support the country’s data centre industry to enabling it to be benchmarked at the global level.”  

EPI represented by its Senior Consultant, Otto de Roo, presented insights on global data centre trends and changes that will impact the industry and the people working in and around the industry.  Traditional resilient infrastructure will change or be complemented due to new technologies and driven by an ever increasing demand for availability and ever more demanding customers who expect service availability 24x7. There will be a shift in enterprise data centres. Small and medium enterprises will increasingly turn to colocation and cloud providers. IoT will lead to aggregation of many regional data centres to support demand for hyperscale data centres. The data center industry will see double-digit growth in upcoming years.
